ay,misfits have always been pretty literal about their lyrics, not many complicated metaphors and such. so this song is simple enough: A guy misses his dead wife/girlfriend greatly, and since he cant get to her in heaven, decides to take the quicker route to her, which is by going to the cemetary with a shovel. Beautiful, yet macabre

personnally, i really like this song.. it doesnt really matter to me whether its glenn or not.. i mean, sure he was AWESOME! but ya know, theres not too much we can do about it right? so yeah, i really like this song..

There is some beautiful imagery in the lyrics, I haven't really decided upon a meaning cuz honestly I'm not certain there is one, but the imagery gets me every time.
Granted Michael Graves is no Glenn, but the guy still has one hell of a voice on him. Just my 2 pennies.
there isnt very many newfits songs i like, this one and maybe American Psycho, but other than that all the old pre-graves stuff was good, Danzig is a much better songwriter and singer
Actually, Graves was trying to be like Danzig in this song, Graves sounds wicked when he screams but singing was Danzig's thing, Jerry Only tried to make Graves be like Danzig, learn your Misfits history!
