Flower To Hide Lyrics

So make it shine
No need to fade
I'll make it hard on you
I'll make it glow
No need to show you this time
I'll make it easy

And I know
The sunlight bleaches you
It colours everything you do
And I know
A flower's fading far too soon

So think of a time
It's something to cling to
Imagine a life
That never escapes you
Conceal it behind
The colour and perfume
A flower to hide
A violet surprise
And I know
The sunlight bleaches you
It colours everything you do
And I know
A flower's fading far too soon

And I know
The sunlight bleaches you
It colours everything you do
And I know
The sunlight bleaches you
A flower's fading far too soon

The sunlight bleaches you It colours everything you do

Amazing song. In my top 3 favourites by Catherine Wheel (including all their albums). :)

@SpecialCookies Same here, I can’t get enough of this song.

Just my modest interpretation...

The sunlight (whether literal or figurative) is an accelerator and enricher of life and all its beauty... especially for the subject. It colors the world and pulls energy to the surface but that energy and color is limited and is draining the subject of her or his lifeforce. Like a flower, she feeds off the sunlight but the more sunlight she consumes, the faster she'll return back into the Earth.
