Iron lungs were used to treat polio victims, most of which were children. Polio can affect the CNS and cause musculoskeletal deformities as well as paralysis. Paralysis from the waist down would cause them to be unable to copulate (maggots are the larval stages of flies, children are the human equivalent). There’s an old wives’ tale that cats suck babies’ breath, but the iron lung would be problematic for the cats since it is a ventilator. The body was inside the long cylindrical tube with only the neck and head sticking out (cracked necks from settled limbs). Would you want to go through all of that just to live life paralyzed, deformed, and unable to copulate? Some kinda love or some kinda hate indeed. And it may be “woah”, but in this case, “woe” seems more fitting.

I love this song; it's happy enough you can play it when you're hyper, angsty enough you can play it when you're annoyed. It took me a while to figure out what the lyrics are... I'm not reading too deep into them, it's a good song so I'll leave it at that.
I see this song as how we all try to balance our good and bad sides, though everyone knows that you aren't always good and nice. It sorta is like Yin & Yang, within yourself.

I love this song, everytime i download a misfit song i never heard i love it more than the last song, first song i heard by them was we are 138 and i absolutly hated it, didn't like the misfits, and now i am the biggest fan of the misfits its great i would do anything for them to do one more reunion tour across canada and america making stops in calgary and lethbridge lol
the correct lyric is "the maggots in the iron lung won't copulate," that's what he says and that's what all the lyrics online used to be about 6 years ago. i don't know why they all say "eye of love" now. but if you listen closely you can hear he says "iron lung" which is a much greater image in my opinion.
