Grace Kelly Blues Lyrics
Grace Kelly Blues
The cut great mindwalking through the dirty streets
Of Paris in the hot August heat
Sun melts in the fake Smile away
Just looking for a place to stay
The actress gave up all her old dreams
And traded up, now she is a queen
Royal families dont have time
for that shit
Your crystall ball you keep it hid
The tractor trailer driver radios
Help me someone I'm out here on my own
Truck drives from the black
Night away Praying for the light of day
The kid in the mall works a hot dog on a stick
His head is a funny shape his heart is a brick
Taking your order he will look away
He doesn't have a thing to say
But me I'm feeling pretty good as of now
I'm not so sure when I got here and how
sun melt in the fake smile away
I think you know I'll be ok
Of Paris in the hot August heat
Sun melts in the fake Smile away
Just looking for a place to stay
And traded up, now she is a queen
Royal families dont have time
for that shit
Your crystall ball you keep it hid
Help me someone I'm out here on my own
Truck drives from the black
Night away Praying for the light of day
His head is a funny shape his heart is a brick
Taking your order he will look away
He doesn't have a thing to say
I'm not so sure when I got here and how
sun melt in the fake smile away
I think you know I'll be ok

The Grace Kelly link is obviously about the Hitchcock actress, who gave up acting to marry Prince Rainier III of the little principality of Monaco... Her biographers show that the life of a princess was not exactly living happily ever after. Old friends from Philadelphia as well as people she had known in Hollywood reported how glad she was to talk about her life in America and to be speaking English.
The funeral dirge at the beginning seems to be in memory of his dead loved ones and its reflecting on sadness occuring in the world. The last verse seems to be the most personal.
But me I'm feeling pretty good as of now (He's doing well and coping with his loss) I'm not so sure when I got here and how (He's doesn't quite know how or when he coped) sun melt in the fake smile away (he doesn't have to pretend to be happy anymore) I think you know I'll be ok (He's gonna do just fine in life)
I could be wrong thought, so don't take my word for it.
oh by the way the lyrics are a bit incorrect, the actual lyrics are:
The cut rate mime walking through the dirty streets Of Paris in the hot august heat Sun melting the fake smile away Just looking for a place to stay
The actress gave up all her old dreams And traded up, now she is a queen Royal families dont have time for that shit Your crystall ball you keep it hid
The tractor trailer driver radios Help me someone I'm out here on my own Truck driving the black night away Praying for the light of day
The kid in the mall works at hot dog on a stick His hat is a funny shape his heart is a brick Taking your order he will look away He doesn't have a thing to say
But me I'm feeling pretty good as of now I'm not so sure when I got here or how sun melting the fake smile away I think you know I'll be ok
This is E letting us know he's emerged from the dark tunnel of despair following the deaths of his mother and sister. This is the first song after the much darker "Electroshock Blues," which left us wondering if and when he'd jump off a bridge. This song tells us he's getting by.
