Oh I love this song! I've heard that it is about Lestat from the vampire chronicals (Also where they got their name from). Didn't think it really was at first, but now that I read the lyrics I can see it.
Yeah it's presumably inspired by Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles in general. Very moody, I love it :)

Even though love can be so difficult in life and sometimes you feel like you just want to give up on it, you shouln't, never give up on love. That's what I think this song is saying. Love and lust are easily mixed up and if that happens and it breaks you, then just go with it, whatever happens happens. But don't give up and keep on loving and being open to it.
I read the lyrics and the part that i saw is when lestat and nicki go to the witch's place and nicki fiddles and fiddles. At one point lestat gets up and dances with him. I think the chorus reffers to that part.
