Moment In The Sun Lyrics

when it's my moment in the sun
oh, how beautiful i'll be
but in a normal sort of way
like i am you, and you are me

'cause i have a lot of things to say
and you'd be wise to listen good
i think that hunger, war, and death
are bringin' everybody down

la la laaa la la laaa la laa la la

when it's my moment in the sun
i'll share my problems with the world
and psychosomatically i'll sing
to god and all his pretty girls

laaa la laaa la la laaa la la laa la la laa la la laaa la laa la laaaaaa la la

when it's my moment in the sun
i won't forget that i am blessed
but every hero walks alone
thinking of more things to confess

When I saw Eef play, he explained that this was his "throw-down" to Jewel, similar to the silly fights Jay-Z and Nas further through lyrics in their songs. So now that I know this song is making fun of Jewel, it's 3574 times more funny. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LA LAAAAAAAAAAA LA LA LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA~!!!!#$%!!!

i think of it as a look at the romanticism and idealism that we all hold on to, especially when we're younger. it's half mocking, half embracing.

i don't really understand why it's the theme from ed, though.

Yeah, I agree with Snizz on this one. I've heard from several sources that this song is making fun of Jewel. It makes fun of her lyrics and the topics of her songs (and other songwriters like her). "I think that hunger, war, and death are bringin' everybody down." What a great way to point out the obviousness of topics like that.

As for the Ed connection, I don't think it has anything to do with the true meaning of the song (they cut out the la la la parts). I think they were just going for a low key song, catchy song for the show. This song definitely captures the whole mood of Ed.
