Deafening Silence Lyrics

She looked right into my eyes and said to me
that hurt that you try to hide is killing me
you drink a thousand lies, to freeze the past in time

I've tried to fill this silence uo
but now its back again

See the pain in my eyes
see the scars deep inside
my god im down in this hole again
with the laughter that i smile
with the tears that i cry
keep going down this road called life

she says that im insecure i guess shes right
cause just when i think im sure alone at night
the agonies come back this pain wont let me be

i tried to fill the silence up
but now its back again

See the pain in my eyes
see the scars deep inside
my god im down in this hole again
with the laughter that i smile
with the tears that i cry
keep going down this road called life
don't need your sympathy
i just want for this silence to stop killing me

Its deafening
its deafening
this silence inside me

I try to fill this silence up
but now its back again
its empty like sucicide
this pain inside

See the pain in my eyes
see the scars deep inside
my god im down in this hole again
with the laughter that i smile
with the tears that i cry
keep going down this road called life
don't need your sympathy
i just want for this silence to stop killing me

i see this song as a continuation of " trephination ". i think in that song, he goes through his life since the time period of his molestation and this song is really how he's doing now as a grown adult. and how he's tried to move on, but he can't forget it at all. i think in a way this album is all about rob's life... wicked album, wicked band.

I think this song is about a guy who is depressed and everyone can tell altho he tries to hide it. He wants help but does not want people to look down on him. This is definatly what i have been feeling for the past few weeks and i can really relate to this song.

@only_the_names More people in this fucked world of ours care than you might think. It's a very old comment, so this reply is technically necroposting, but I feel this one is justifiable. Did you get past it?

The meaning of this track is the bottling of emotions and anxieties from a life of hardship and suffering. The hurt they try to hide ultimately affects their loved ones as well, and whenever they try desperately to escape the silence, it always returns. All the hurt, the lies, and the struggle with their insecurities traps them in a cycle of despair. Every time they think about breaking out, and if they succeed, it won't be long till the pain returns and the silence becomes deafening.

Slow, emotional, and amazing describes this song pretty well. Although, I don't think it's quite as good as The Burning Red (the song that is).

It's about that nothingness you feel inside after losing something very important to, and how sometimes when you think you've moved on it comes back to haunt you again.
