Too Late for Love Lyrics
Somewhere in the distance, I hear the bells ring
Darkness settles on the town as the children start to sing
A lady 'cross the street, she shouts out the night
A guest of of thousands waiting, as she turns out the light
But it's too late, too late, too late
Too late for love
Too late, too late, too late, too late
London boys are gazing as the girls go hand in hand
A pocket full of innocence, their entrance is grand
And the Queen of the dream stands before them all
She stretches out her hand as the curtains start to fall
But it's too late, too late, too late
Too late for love
Too late, too late, it's too late
Too late
Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa ooh
Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa ooh
Oh yeah!
Standin' by the trapdoor, aware of me and you
The actor and the clown, their waiting for their cue
And there's a lady over there, she's acting pretty cool
But when it comes to playing life, she always plays the fool
But it's too late, too late, it's too late
Too late to love
Too late, it's too late, too late
Too late
Ooh whoa
Ooh whoa ooh
It is all too late
Ooh whoa
It's too late
Ooh whoa ooh
Yes it is all too late
Yeah!
It's too late
Too late, too late, too late
Too late for love
Too late
(whoah yeah)
Too late
(Oh yeah)
Too late, too late
Too late, too late, too late

My personal favorite DL song.
Yeah seems like its about a prostitute who maybe wants to stop that way of life, or has tried but always seems to get sucked back into it? Not sure.
I always thought the title was "Too Late For Love" - am I wrong??
It's fucking Shakespeare you bloody morons
@2old4thiscrap It is? Does Shakespeare plays have "a cast of thousands"? Is the audience typically all male? ("London boys are gazing")? And the fact that only female cast members are mentioned is a coincidence? What about the fact that the narrator talks about a "lady 'cross the street" while being in the audience? No, the song uses theatre themed metaphores, but it's not ABOUT theatre, but prostitution. And by the way, please try to stay factual, you stupid oaf!

Sounds like a prostitute wants to quit her job.
greaT HARD ROCK Song
no you are right justin
This song is an awesome testament to the genre of British Rock. And what a British Rock group! London was heavily bombed during WWII. I do see the association with prostitution, but I wonder if the WWII era is being expressed through the music. Awesome tune.
I heard this just now and always turned it before, but I began when I first heard this on the radio. My high school days!! Got me thinking back of all the good and bad that I did as a teen.
I heard this song many time It’s about a bride who don’t want to be married
