Radio Star Lyrics

I tell you my story on VH1
And all of my personal hell
And how my dad beat me and how much he drank
Do you think it'll help my records sell

Cause I'm the radio star with the cars and the clothes
The fancy guitars and the spoon in my nose
You know in my world now anything goes
You all want to be me, and I'll be gone in a week

Hang out with Britney and Fred Durst
Arrive in a limo, I'll leave in a hearse
And I can't decide now which part is worse
Losing my life to the game, or losing the fortune and fame

Cause I'm the radio star with the cars and the clothes
The fancy guitars and the spoon in my nose
You know in my world now anything goes
You all want to be me, and I'll be gone in a week

You put me on TV with all the cool stars
Like Letterman, Conan and Jay
Cause we're all experts at the art of PR
And nobody knows that I'm gay

I'm the radio star with the cars and the clothes
The fancy guitars and the spoon in my nose
You know in my world now anything goes
You all want to be me, and I'll be gone in a week

I'm the radio star
I'm the radio star
I'm the radio star
I'm the radio star

Edwin has said that this is actually a sarcastic song about how Rock Stars are always complaining about there problems and saying hoiw they signed a bad contract and all this other crap. I think Edwin also said he wrote this song when he was watching The Goo goo Dolls on Behind the Music. So none of the stuff he says is true about himself, meaning his dad never beat him and he's not gay.....

This song is awesome and it's hilarious when Edwin perfroms it in concert :-D

Edwin's a fucking asshole for writing this song. Making fun of someone who had an abusive alcoholic father is not funny, it's fucking immature and ridiculous. It just shows how much of an ass he is.

Saying "I'll be gone in a week". HA! Backfired on him didn't it?! When was the last time you heard from Mr. McCain? The guys he wrote this song about is still around. Just saw the man in concert last month, and it was amazing.

I agree with live4music, he is an asshole and if he knew anything about John Rzeznik (the person he's refering to in the first paragraph) he'd know that he wouldn't do that just to sell records. So what if John had revealed that for Behind the Music? Isn't that what's it's for, to let people know where they came from and whatnot? It's not like he goes around and tells people that on purpose.

Well, Mr. McCain got his just deserts for that one. ;)
