Cursed Diamond Lyrics
I lose myself
I forget myself
Sometimes I fault myself
I might fight myself
But then I make amends
I freeze myself
Rain on myself
Okay, so I stone myself
And I might even find myself
But then again what happens if I do
So unzip my pride
Baby, open me up wide now
So I can show this to you
I wanna shine for you
Yeah, I wanna sparkle too
Just like a diamond cursed
Well you know it don't get no worse
Well you know that I'll save you time
Your trouble now is mine
Hold me baby
Hold me girl
And I will laugh with you
Laugh with you if you want me to
Roll me in your splendor
I'll envy your surrender
And show, show you victory
Well I hate myself
Doesn't everybody hate themselves
So what, I scare myself
It's alright cause I tell myself
Tell myself that it's all in my mind
So I let the poison go
Cause baby I always know
It'll be there for me
I wanna shine for you
Baby, I wanna sparkle too
Just like a diamond cursed
Well, you know it don't get worse
Well baby I'll save your time
Your trouble is now mine
Hold me baby
Hold me girl
And I will laugh with you
If you want me to
Roll me in your splendor
And I'll envy your surrender
I will show you victory
I forget myself
Sometimes I fault myself
I might fight myself
But then I make amends

Okay, so I stone myself
And I might even find myself
But then again what happens if I do

Self hate, self love and self truth are paired with a plea to a loved one for true acceptance.
What a great song! I think its about acknowledging that no one is perfect, and we all mess up, but we want to be so awesome for the person we love. Just read it: "I wanna shine for you, I wanna sparkle too" "just like a diamond cursed, you know it don't get no worse." When I'm feeling down or frustrated, I listen to this one, gives me a more positive outlook.
@remedyjayne Smart coping decision, because then you will tell yourself that it is all in your mind, and let go of the poison (toxic self-doubts).

Okay...this song is about heroin. ALL the songs on "Amorica" are...probably the most drug-centric album of the last 30 years.
"So I let the poison go Cause I always know it'll be there for me"
'nuff said.
I think it's more about a very loving relationship, where even if he hurts the woman (gives her poison), she'll still be there for him, and will be understanding.

Too many themes of tenderness, yearning and sexual allusion to be just about Heroin. Yeah, they did drugs, we get it. But don't just hang everything on that. C'mon, I think Chris Robinson is a bit more that an indulgent druggie. He has a soul.
