Apparitions Lyrics
Remain
Close to me
No good-bye suicide mystery
In your brain
Turns a wheel
Connected to your guts and
All your faults are in me
And all your faults in me
If we lived on TV
Besides all the things they told you to
And all the things they told you to
Inside our own machine
Apparitions
Well is it strange
Where you are
Where you used to be kind of free
Are they laughing at you
Laughing at you
In your brain
Rules the world
From the comfort of your living room
Tell me are we leaving soon
The comfort of your living room
Tell me are we leaving soon
Inside our own machine
Apparitions
Inside our own machine
Apparitions
It's about television and how it controls and contorts are perceptions on life.
I know I'm probably totally wrong, but this is how I always interperated it; The song is about someone with a friend with suicidal depression. The "rat in your brain" is depression, affecting everything in the depressed person's life as their friend tries to comfort them.
Proof positive that Matt Good is a genius
Completely agree, MS
mattew good is definetly an amazing songwriter, his songs are just so confusing. but i love them, weird isnt it.
That's what i love about his songs.. they are so confusing.. they keep you thinking it makes you sit down and try to really find out what he's trying to say..
Just off the top of my head he seems to be talking about the evils of television.
not to be shallowish, but can someone tell me which song it was that was his fairly large hit about a year ago or so, especially in the northeast. i know that i loved it but unless i heard it i dont think that i could particularly pick it out.
Why not just go check their videography, Coughatwhoever? It's bound to be in there, and maybe you could listen to some of the songs and find out which one you're looking for.
It was probably Load Me Up.
