Something to Sing About Lyrics
Life’s a show and we all play a part
And when the music starts
We open up our hearts
It’s all right if some things come out wrong
We’ll sing a happy song
And you can sing along
Where’s there’s life
There’s hope
Everyday’s
A gift
Wishes can
Come true
Whistle while
You work
So hard
All day
To be like other girls
To fit in in this glittering world
Don’t give me songs
Don’t give me songs
Give me something to sing about
I need something to sing about
Life’s a song
You don’t get to rehearse
And every single verse
Can make it that much worse
Still my friends
Don’t know why I ignore
The million things or more
I should be dancing for
All the joy
Life sends
Family
And friends
All the twists
And bends
Knowing that
It ends
Well that
Depends
On if they let you go
On if they know enough to know
That when you bow
You leave the crowd
There was no pain
No fear, no doubt
Until they pulled me out
Of heaven
So that’s my refrain
I live in hell
Because I’ve been expelled
From heaven
I think I was in heaven
So give me something to sing about
Please give me something
Life’s not a song
Life isn’t bliss
Life is just this
It’s living
You’ll get along
The pain that you feel
Only can heal
By living
You have to go on living
So that one of us is living
And when the music starts
We open up our hearts
We’ll sing a happy song
And you can sing along
There’s hope
Everyday’s
A gift
Wishes can
Come true
Whistle while
You work
So hard

"Life’s a song You don’t get to rehearse. And every single verse Can make it that much worse"
This is my favorite song from the musical episode. No matter who you are, you can relate to it in some way. The above lyrics are my favorite.
I love the first bit. SMG is perfect.
I love this song. It relates to real life and well to the show. It was a great episode.
I love this song, it's a good ending song and Sarah did a really good job with little musical pratice. And BTW this song is called "Something To Sing About" not "Life's A Show"
i love spike. i think he did a great job
Buffy as a character is far too optimistic for her own good and I like how at the end Spike levels her out. I agree with Spike's lookout. basically, shit happens. Buffy's like "whine whine my life isn't perfect whine whine" and it's so annoying. yea she got fucked over, get over it lol sorry just at this moment of this song her character pissed me off.
sorry but, did you even WATCH the show? This is sung almost ironically from Buffy; she's feeling like even though she has her friends, her family, she feels nothing and needs-literally- "something to sing about." She's not being optimistic in any way, she's saying "this is what everyone wants me to feel because i'm alive again, but really none of this means anything to me and even though I have "a million things or more i should be dancing for", it's not something i want." Spike isn't saying "shit happens, get over it." He's telling her that while things...

For the love of Joss, I hope that you've just started watching this show, because if you consider yourself a true BTVS fan and you got ALL OF THIS WRONG, that's pathetic. fumes
Can I agree with your disagree? Everything you said is so true. Plus, even if Buffy seems 'Whiny' she has every right to be. She got pulled out of HEAVEN for Christ's sake! Literally, she got pulled out of the happiest place she could be where she was finally free of all responsibilities, and is put back in the loop of her shit-job of always being in danger and never being off duty. I know the is relatable on many levels with its supernatural metaphors, but her situation just isn't. It's beyond our full comprehension of how hard it must...
