i love your interpretation. i immediately thought the normal interpretation but yours is reall good. even if its not the intended one (and i have no idea)i love that idea cause it always feels like im waiting for my friends and everytime i tell myself that it wont happen again, that ill tell them what i think and not wait around for them but then something happens and im there picking up the pieces for them. i dunno... it didnt occur to me until you said it, maybe not exacpt what you say but i lo ve it, and then the singer is saying that shes so preoccupied waiting for this friend/s that she cant see he's waiting for her too.
