One More Astronaut Lyrics
One more astronaut in black skin
Of universe
One more travellin' man
With heavy tired eyes, feeling cold
Thinking around the clock of drinking
On the job, of the powdered food
And piss bags, never having sex and growing old
Headspace...alive and painless,
Weightless and almost sane
I close my eyes, I become the sky
Headspace...alone and shameless
Can't wait to find the faces
I left behind in a troubled time
Back home
It gets so lonely you know
Weeks and months alone chasing
Sleep and space junk and the dying
Stars I've known and loved
Through true decline
Of the five billion minds or so
Through mudslides
And earthquakes, the blue one holds
And rolls along
One more astronaut in
Endless old universe with
One more second chance at
Wondering why he's here at all
Bold are the ones who
Come over the line to fall over
The horizon...never ones to fade away
Then it hit me, this
Cosmic pull and energy
It kinda makes me wonder
If I'll ever make it Back home
Of universe
One more travellin' man
With heavy tired eyes, feeling cold
Thinking around the clock of drinking
On the job, of the powdered food
And piss bags, never having sex and growing old
Weightless and almost sane
I close my eyes, I become the sky
Headspace...alone and shameless
Can't wait to find the faces
I left behind in a troubled time
Back home
Weeks and months alone chasing
Sleep and space junk and the dying
Stars I've known and loved
Through true decline
Of the five billion minds or so
Through mudslides
And earthquakes, the blue one holds
And rolls along
Endless old universe with
One more second chance at
Wondering why he's here at all
Bold are the ones who
Come over the line to fall over
The horizon...never ones to fade away
Then it hit me, this
Cosmic pull and energy
It kinda makes me wonder
If I'll ever make it Back home

I think this song is absolutely awesome. I'm not quite sure what they are trying to say but they use alot of metaphors. I think it may just be about someone contemplating suicide. The comparison they are making is an astronaut fearing if he'll make it back to earth and a person fearing if they'll ever make it back to sanity. I'm not quite sure, just a guess though.
Its about the life of a trucker
rofl..good one. Awesome catchy song tho, great when you're speeding on the highway.
I think it's great they wrote a song about being an astronaut.
Close, but no cigar, The song is a metaphor about feeling Isolated, different, like you're an astronaut in another universe, everyone you ever find alien, and wondering if you'll ever make it back home, where you belong.
I've only seen the preview for the movie, but anyone else hoping this shows up in "Gravity"? Seems freaking perfect....
Gretchdrs, I saw "Gravity" last weekend. I have recently moved and had to dig for the box containing my CD's to find this song because it is PERFECT for this film. After seeing the movie I was having pangs to hear this song.
