Cinderella Lyrics

My father spent his days working on the outside
Breaking his back to put cloths on mine
When I think of all, all of my heros
He is the first one that comes to my mind, my mind

My mother filled my head with beautiful day dreams
Someday you'll be a king, or the president
You know somedays, I still believe her
But today I’m too busy trying to scrape up my rent

Well, come on Cinderella
Fold you're umbrella
And feel the rain
'Cause it ain't so strange

And I got a brother who’s a sinner
He grows a strange crop in his backyard
When the cops come and take him away
Would they even care that
He taught his little brother how to play his guitar?

Well, come on Cinderella
Fold you're umbrella
And feel the rain
'Cause it ain't so strange

Well, come on Cinderella
Fold you're umbrella
And feel the rain
'Cause it ain't so strange

Cover art for Cinderella lyrics by Push Stars, The

This is such a beautiful song. It was written by Chris Trapper for a girl, to try to explain his family to her.

I think he did a pretty good job. :-)

I've got to say, my favorite line in the song is, "He grows a strange crop in his back yard". Strange doesn't say that Chris is judging him, but does make it clear that it's marijuana. Exquisite!
