Take This Bottle Lyrics
I can wait to love in heaven
I can wait for you
Far away, I'll treat you better
Better than down here
Because I've done wrong
And I'm a little afraid
And I ain't too strong
And this ain't easy to say:
Take this bottle
Take this bottle
And just walk away - the both of you
And let me feel the pain - I've done to you
I can hope we'll be together
With a better roof over our heads
I can hope the stormy weather
It passes on - it passes on
But I've hoped too long
Hoped for me to change
And that hope is gone
So listen to what I say:
Take this bottle
Take this bottle
And just walk away - the both of you
And let me feel the pain - I've done to you
I can wait to love in heaven
I can wait for you
Take this bottle
And just walk away
Take this bottle
And just walk away
Take this bottle
Take this bottle
And just walk away - the both of you
And let me feel the pain - I've done to you
I can wait to love in heaven
I can wait for you
Take this bottle...
I can wait for you
Far away, I'll treat you better
Better than down here
And I'm a little afraid
And I ain't too strong
And this ain't easy to say:
Take this bottle
And just walk away - the both of you
And let me feel the pain - I've done to you
With a better roof over our heads
I can hope the stormy weather
It passes on - it passes on
Hoped for me to change
And that hope is gone
So listen to what I say:
Take this bottle
And just walk away - the both of you
And let me feel the pain - I've done to you
I can wait for you
Take this bottle
And just walk away
Take this bottle
And just walk away
Take this bottle
And just walk away - the both of you
And let me feel the pain - I've done to you
I can wait for you

I would have to say that I think this song is about a man who have serious drinkin' problems. And he has beaten up his girlfriend/wife several times and finally realized that it's fucked up. So either he decides to let go of the girl and the bottle or he just commit suicide which seems more truly. And he then hope that his choice to leave the girl and his life will make amends for his bad behavior and they will reunite up in heaven.
I think this is about a guy whose killed his wife. He loved her and is sorry. His alcohol addiction is the cause of it all and he's willing to feel the pain by having someone help him out of it. Mike Patton is GOD
this song does not suck, its my fave fnm song pretty much... i think like most patton songs it doesnt hold any signifigant meaning, but just a mood-setter for a wonderful song
I was under the impression that Billy wrote this song about his alcoholism pushing his wife and daughter away. I could be wrong tho. Leave it to FNM to write a kick-ass country song tho!
This song reminds me of a guy whos made a million promises to the girl in his life. Time after time he told her it would be better or different and it never was. He is a horrible guy, he knows and admitts he isnt good to her. Hes been trying to change but it hasnt really happened in their lives so far. So one day he realized she loves him more than anything and she is not going to leave. She has put up with his lines and lies for this long, she is a good girl and she is sticking with him. But he cares about her to much to keep putting her through this so he tells her to leave. He admitts he hoped it would be better but knows it wont so he tells her to just leave him and that one day, in a better place he will love her like he should have all a long. When he says take this bottle, i dont think its realy him giving up on drinking to me he is saying just take all the lies and lines i fed you bc of my addiction and walk away, he isnt tell her to take them but to walk away...
NLo
by no means does this song suck, but i feel Seinfeld started to diminish when the writers showed how obvious that George was a pedophole---ultimately leading to the shows demise.
Haha what?
Perhaps the most elegant regret song ever.
The idea of an alcoholic asking his wife/gf/love to go away with the bottle itself (a symbolic act more than anything else) so he feels the pain of what he's done to her fits right in for me.
This is perhaps Mike's "cleanest" singing ever. Everytime he hits the high notes on "IIIIIIIIIIII can waaaiit" it cracks me up.
I always thought this song was about someone who sent a message in a bottle from an island.
one's relationship with their drinking habits... also thinking about life.
