Digging The Grave Lyrics
It would be wrong to ask you why
Because I know what goes inside
Is only half of what come out
Isn't that what it's about?
To remind us we're alive
To remind us we're not blind
In that big, black hole
Comfortable
Digging the grave, I got it made
Let something in or throw something out?
You left the door open wide
I know you have a reason why
That knot is better left untied
I just went and undid mine
It takes some time
And the shadows so big
It takes the sun out of the day
And the feeling goes away
if you close the door
Comfortable
And it's out of this world
Comfortable
Because I know what goes inside
Is only half of what come out
Isn't that what it's about?
To remind us we're alive
To remind us we're not blind
In that big, black hole
Comfortable
Digging the grave, I got it made
Let something in or throw something out?
You left the door open wide
I know you have a reason why
That knot is better left untied
I just went and undid mine
It takes some time
And the shadows so big
It takes the sun out of the day
And the feeling goes away
if you close the door
Comfortable
And it's out of this world
Comfortable

I think this is one of those "open your eyes" songs.
Without the annoying rap rock, lack of creativity and unoriginality.
Jiggly Wiggly.
Sentenced, 36 Crazyfists - these two bands did really bad versions of this song - advice to other bands who are thinking of it, JUST DONT BOTHER
It's about insomnia and people who work the night shift, and about isolation. It's comfortable being alone.
Powerful song. Like it.
people get too comfortable in the situations they are in even if they are bad; comfort in familiarity
'The development of Modern Industry, therefore, cuts from under its feet the very foundation on which the bourgeoisie produces and appropriates products. What the bourgeoisie, therefore, produces, above all, is its own grave-diggers.'
Karl Marx, 'The Communist Manifesto'
Listen to this song and you'll hear where from System of a Down is inspired.
That's pretty much what I was saying. Patton was looking at the plight of the worker from a Marxist perspective, which is more or less where System of a Down stand.
