Star A.D. Lyrics

Star A.D.

See tomorrow dreaming
You don't need your freedom

Star A.D.

A little joke that's understood
It's all over the world
A little joke that's understood
It's all over the world
A little joke that's understood
It's all over the world
A little joke that's understood
It's all over and over and over and over
Over
Over
Over

And dying is dry
Like a fact of history
And when you die
You'll become something worse than dead
You'll become
A legend

See tomorrow dreaming
You don't need your freedom

We are forever
We are forever
We are forever
We...

We are forever
We are forever
We are forever
We...

A little joke that's understood
It's all over the world
A little joke that's understood
It's all over the world
A little joke that's understood
It's all over the world
A little joke that's understood
It's all over and over and over and over
Over
Over
Over

This song's a personal fav, and reading the lyrics now, it could be be pretty self-explanitory, about the nature of 'celebrity' and people who have kinda faded from the spotlight a little can get launched back to fame when they die (there's a movie being made about johnny cash for example).

The

“And when you die You'll become something worse than dead You'll become A legend”

  • part of the song, have always made me think of Kurt Cobain, and his famous quote “It’s better to burn out, than to fade away”

Part of the song, have always made me think of Curt Cobain, and his death

@Psilocybinsvampen fyi, cobain was quoting the (excellent) neil young song "hey hey, my my (into the black)"

--- The line below on my previous post, shouldn’t have been there.

That is from a Def Leppard song in the early 80's.

JK: Okay, "Star A.D." Those were sampled horns, right?
