Malpractice Lyrics
The crowd roars
It's deep and so unhealthy
The rest you know
I feel the hands that felt me
Cold hands
Your hands
Cover my mouth
While I'm staring into bright lights
APPLAUSE
The crowd roars
The gurgling and the groping
The rest you know
Ten lovers violating
Cured
Discharged
Reach back inside
Knuckle white
Ruffle white
The crowd roars
They've ruined and repaired me
The rest you know
The hands removed the bad thing
MIRACLE
It's deep and so unhealthy
The rest you know
I feel the hands that felt me
Your hands
Cover my mouth
While I'm staring into bright lights
The gurgling and the groping
The rest you know
Ten lovers violating
Discharged
Reach back inside
Ruffle white
They've ruined and repaired me
The rest you know
The hands removed the bad thing

jimbombjoe just wrote down Patton's answer when he was asked about the meaning of his song... so Patton just gave a funny "fuck-off" answer to his questin. as usual :) to me this song is clearly(omg isnt it soo clear?!?!! the title, the lines???!!) about malpractice(anything you do wrong in life) and how there will always be people preying on you..... idiots!
.
I vaguely remember a very early interview with FNM where the guys are talking about each others contributions and one of them describes Malpractice as being about a person being partially awake during surgery and becoming sexually aroused and obsessed with the idea of their surgeon and the team working on their insides. If you read it that way you can see that it's pretty straightforward.
@SpasticMinnow you can't remember the source of the interview or any more details??

@sokorny, Looked around, tried to remember what I was reading- Creem Magazine July 1992 (pre- release). "Faith No More's Savage Democracy" BG: Tell her about "Malpractice." MP: Alright, there's this one song I wrote about a lady who goes to a surgeon and she's getting operated on and she realizes she likes the surgeon's hand inside of her. She doesn't even care about being cured, she just wants someone's hands inside of her -- she gets addicted to that. http://www.faithnomorefollowers.com/2017/07/faith-no-more-july-1992-creem-magazine.html

This song is all about a woman who goes in for some serious surgery and discovers that she likes the feel of a doctor working inside of her body, she then becomes a sexual addict thereafter.
Stems from Bill Goulds and Mike Pattons love for dodgy grindcore bands, especially DM pioneers Carcass. It's there take on DM lyrics.
I'm suprised there aren't any more comments on this one, I think it's a FNM classic, even though the lyrics are pretty bizarre, the music is awesome. The Dillinger Escape Plan have played it live with Patton too.
fucking incredible work by the whole band... i think jimbobjoe is on the right track so eery sounding
I watched a thing on Youtube about the making of the album, and it showed Mike Patton playing the bassline for Jim. He said he wanted a "Godflesh machine thing going" in the song.
jimbobjoe has a pretty damn coherent theory, except for one thing. maybe the girl isn't liking the fact that the surgeon's hands are 'violating' her.
Exactly!!!!!!!! I think it's about an evil gyno! Ha! "ten lovers violating" are his hands. The whole "discharge, reach back inside" makes me think there might be an accidental bun in the oven. The music reminds me of a nursery, "ruffle white" "knuckle white".... Then "the hands removed the bad thing" sounds like abortion to me. "miracle" as in the miracle of child birth. I like all the refrences to hands and fingers!!! "applause!!! Applause!!"

When I first heard it I thought it was about getting molested by your dentist whilst under anesthetic. But now I think it's about someone who derives sexual pleasure from being operated on.
???cool discharge, reach back inside???? i swear that it says that before the mellow part... or something along those lines.. anywho one of my fave fnm songs
