Teenage Whore Lyrics

When I was a teenage whore
My mother asked me she said, "Baby, what for?
I give you plenty, why do you want more?
Baby why are you a teenage whore?"

I said I feel so, alone and I,
I wish I could die
I've seen the things you put me through and I
I wish I could die

When I was a teenage whore
The rain came down like it never did before
I pay good money not to be ignored
Why am I a teenage whore

I've seen your repulsion and it looks real good on you
Denying what...what what you put me through

Of my house...get out of my house
Get out of my house
Get out of my house!

When I was a teenage whore
My mother asked me she said, "Baby, what for?
I give you plenty, why do you want more?
Baby, why are you a teenage whore?"

I've seen your repulsion and it looks real good on you
I don't want to live what you had...you have put me through
I wanted that shirt and I, I wanted those pants

It's all the light put me through and I
And I never had a way

For all you who didn't know...I heard Hole broke up awhile back. For the longest time I grew up thinking Courtney had a impact on kurt's death, but now I realize (from actually taking a kick ass class on Nirvana.) that Nirvana and Holes, mainly Kurt and Courtney were far more complicated that everything they wrote. (And yes, prior to many people's beliefs, Courtney -did- write music, and had been since before Kurt came along.) I'm huge fans of both Kurt and Courtney, and I think they needed each other, they almost fed off each others energy. I mean look at the way the met, they wrestled....haha...Just saying, Courtney does have talent, and I think Holes is so underappriated its naeusating.

A common belief, held by all truly stupid/ignorant people is that Courtney had a hand in Kurt's death. If you are afflicted by this incredibly untrue belief, I suggest you take a leaf from Kurt's book, read some of the letter's he wrote to her, and the lengths he took to defend her from people like you.

"I've seen your repulsion and it looks real good on you."

I love that line.

When mothers act like they have no idea why their daughters turned out so screwed up. In the presence of the public they're disgusted by their own children's actions. But in private...they raised them that way without even realizing it.

I dont think its literally about prostitution... more about insecurity, maybe, seeing yourself as a "teenage whore". Meh, I dont know. Or maybe its sarcastic...

I love this song. It's so unflichingly ohnest. I believe it's about a teenage whore A girl who has a terrible relationship with her mother and sells her body because of her lonliness and desperation.

I love this song. I love it! It's not about being a slag, it's about not knowing what's good for you, but rebelling feeling good because it's all about revenge.

i find it funny that punkiebruster21, who so clearly knows so much about Kurt Cobain and his death spelled his name wrong. sarcasm of course.

Hole broke up in 2002 so I think it would be hard for them to kick Courtney out.

I think Teenage Whore is about Courtney's relationship with her mother. Her mother would try to buy her love and give her material things when what she really needed was someone to love her for who she was. She probably looked for that love in all the wrong places since she wasn't getting it at home and then was considered a teenage whore.
