This song is utter genius. The slide solo reminds me of a fire sweeping through your brain at top speeds.
This song is about believing in yourself almost as much as you doubt yourself.
I personally think it's about the way you feel when you're listening to the music, how it touches your soul and makes you feel disconnected from the reality... you go to the world of your dreams and memories, and then when the music stops you return to the reality in an instant. At the same time it's so incredibly easy, you don't need drugs or meditation to reach this state.

unbelievable, im so happy that i looked past the "bittersweet" mindset and actually became a follower of their music, they are apart of my life just because of how deep the meanings and sounds of the music. This song just tops everything ive ever heard with my ears
This song is amazing! but I want to know... what does "Wild Eyes" mean? I think this song is about when you have live a lot of things, experience... and you have seen it all... you have been already there...
Nick McCabe in an interview with MusicRadar said that Ashcroft's lyrics on this album were a purposeful stream of consciousness.
"Richard was absent, really, for a lot of the first two albums in terms of writing music. We'd go off and play and wait for his appearance. But what Richard is very good at - one of the many things he's good at, I should say - is coming up with lyrics on the spot. And very good lyrics.
The accepted wisdom of A Storm In Heaven is that the lyrics are gibberish and that Richard improved over the years. I think that's not the case. His stream of consciousness stuff on A Storm In Heaven is spot on, for me."
