One of my many favorite Nirvana songs...
Kurt actually wrote this song for Iggy Pop. He wanted iggy to have it. Its basically a song about nothing.

I would guess that it has layered meaning like most things people say or write. The covert being writing the song for Iggy Pop. But nearly all humans take an interest in others somewhat through the filter of their own attempts relate to themselves too, though it may not be the conscious intention. Everything is seen this way when we are very young children and we are able to see others as separate beings as we mature, but that inner tendency to see ourselves in the reflections of others remains on some level.

I really like this song,the melody is very catchy,I dunno what it means...some lines are pretty interesting and seem to talk a lot about kurt's situation with fame and stuff,I dunno if the lyrics are correct but it has some pretty interesting lines that seem to deal with kurt's fame and how everyone expected many things from him "Leader of the band Makes a mental hell I won't weather it well Well I never Saw it with my arm Paint it with my heart Paint it with my eyes and make it right" maybe is about being yourself and getting away from all the fakeness that fame has and try to be honest to yourself...I dunno
