He isn't able to feel, he is numb and is only now realizing how much he hurt someone. she loves him but left him and being alone is the loudest silence ever. he sees himself as nothing but a cause for her pain.

gives me the chills. maybe about 2 people who cant be together due to being bad for each other. the wound is the perfect partner for a dagger. but however perfect they fit, they're slowly killing each other.

My friend sadly took his own life recently, and requested that 3 songs be played at his funeral, and this was one of them... It was his and his ex-girlfriend's song. :(

To me, this song tells us about how the man fell into a depression of some sort and a sense of derealisation or absence, causing his girlfriend or lover to leave. “I am her dagger, too numb to feel her pain”, shows us that the man knows he has hurt this person and feel helpless and guilt knowing they can’t fully show empathy and that he has become aware of how he has caused someone to feel pain, but not the same pain as him. “I am your wound” also is a lyric telling us about his self-awareness in the hurt he has caused for someone and how he can’t come to a conclusion on how or if he can fix things. “I didn’t really lose you, I just lost it for a while” shows us that this went on for a long period of time when they were together, he would be too numb to depressed to do or feel anything, while she felt touch starved and not given enough attention to satisfy her in their relationship. “I thought I heard you whisper, it happens all the time” tells us for sure that their relationship had indeed split apart and maybe the woman has moved on, we don’t really know; but what we do know is that the man is still mourning over the relationship that he himself caused to lose.

imagine they put this song in a movie about a mentally ill girl who is anemic and lowkey schitzophrenic and theres a scenes where he is sleeping but she wakes up in her dark room but her room has a big beautiful window but its covered with curtains and she has a hallucination on her bed where the curtains are gone and the sun shines bright illuminating her curled up on her bed because of the noises she hears because yk the world is full of noises and she closes her eyes and she falls into a sleep paralysis were she falls and dreams alone beause yk shes all alone and the only thing that can save her is her green ancient emrald necklace that is emerald like her eyes this necklaces belonged to her mom who passed and inside this little green pretty thing was a picture so small was a picture of her and her mother on her 11th birthday but this necklace was lost because she sold it for dr0gz because when her mother passed she was a 16yr old teenager now shes 17 so it has only been a year and she lost herself so much she turned to the only thing she thought would help her. her dad who tries to support her is working 2 jobs one for the house bills and supplies the other on the side to pay for her therapy that she has been going to for 8 months. this girl is lost from reality and in need of help, she goes to school rarely when her dad drops her off she she sometimes go other times she goes to lay under the traintracks because mabye the train will quiet everything else. sometimes she hears her mother calling out to her or singing a little song and when she does she always cries out telling her shell get her necklace back. her green emrald eyes that harness the power of the sun losses its color and in the end she dies the end.
