So Glad To See You Here Lyrics
Someone's got a home tonight.
Someone's got a road tonight.
Someone's got a wad, action will be red,
You you wanna worry?
Oo, you're gonna knock 'em dead.
Someone's got a show tonight.
Someone's gotta go tonight.
Someone's doing rhyme, someone turn your mind.
Someone to lift your eyes up
Leanin' toward the light.
So glad to see you here, so glad you could come. (Yeah!)
So glad to see you here. Carry on. Carry on.
Yeah, yeah!
Oh, we're going up tonight.
Well in time to make a flight.
The airplane's standing on the runway
Engine nervously waiting for something to bite.
Got to roll tonight.
You got to roll tonight.
Some have got it bad, some have got to do it,
You got it better, and there's nothing to it. No no no no.
So glad to see you here, so glad you could come. Yeah!
So glad to see you here. Carry on. Carry on!
Someone's got a road tonight.
Someone's got a wad, action will be red,
You you wanna worry?
Oo, you're gonna knock 'em dead.
Someone's gotta go tonight.
Someone's doing rhyme, someone turn your mind.
Someone to lift your eyes up
Leanin' toward the light.
So glad to see you here. Carry on. Carry on.
Oh, we're going up tonight.
Well in time to make a flight.
The airplane's standing on the runway
Engine nervously waiting for something to bite.
You got to roll tonight.
Some have got it bad, some have got to do it,
You got it better, and there's nothing to it. No no no no.
So glad to see you here. Carry on. Carry on!

I think it's about trying to get it in, get it right and having your adrenaline pumping with excitement in the process. It's also about looking forward to playing on stage and about looking forward to going to a show.
I think this song was meant to open a show with. 'So glad to see you here' are Paul McCartneys welcoming words to the audience. In the song, he's also getting the crowd excited and preparing them for the excitement yet to come.
In my opinion it's one of Maccas most exciting songs. I would find it rather grand if he would play the song live in the future (accompanied by a horn section - and maybe by a rockestra-like band once again). Now THAT would be something.
Rock on, Paul... nice comments, Krtski -- on target. Have you come across any live version of the song?
Unfortunately, I don't think this song was ever played live (unlike rockestra theme). If I'm not mistaken, the only versions that exist are the takes from the actual recording on 3 October 1978. They're good fun though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaTHAmWhIgA&NR=1.

I seem to remember the song was inspired by George visiting the studio where Paul was recording. Can anyone corroborate this?
