Awful

I'm usually the type of person who prefers quieter music, but I must state that I love Courtney Love and Hole's music. I think that she is a great musician and I am fond of most of her songs. I just wanted to add that it's amazing how time flies. I mean, and not that it matters, but she is almost 50 years young. But alive and kicking - very hard. It's nice, she is truly devoted and I like that. Does anyone else feel the same way?

yeh i think its about the descent of the music industry into mindless rubbish and the marketing of teenage girls who have no talent, and the way they are propelled into success. "it was punk, yeah it was perfect, now its awful" might be a reference to rip off punk bands and how its not original anymore

i also think this song has something to do with marketing in the music industry, and how it's sad/awful that singers/groups sell out ["it was punk, yeah it was perfect, now its awful"], and are just into singing for the money ["And they royalty rate all the girls like you, And they sell it out to the girls like you "], and how the industry is trying to get young girls who dont know any better ["oh just shut up, you're only sixteen]. Also, maybe how music is really powerful, and influences people alot ["if the world is so wrong, you can break them all with one song. if the world is so wrong, you can take it all with one song"]

not sure but i recon this song was written before britney was around....maliburotgut....not positive though i might be wrong
