wow i love this song...the guitar riffs are so catchy and the lyrics are so cute in a sad sorta way...i heard that Billie Joe (the lead singer/guitarist/lyrics writer 4 green day 4 all u ppl who don't know) wrote this song when he was 12 about his mom i think?? hmm...correct me if im wrong. and ne of you ppl who don't have green day's pre-dookie cds...yes there are 2!! def. buy them bcuz u wont b disappointed!!!

wow it was the first song ever? thats pretty cool, my buddy has the 1039 smoothed out slappy hours (i think thats what its called) album and we were blasting it in the car. slappy hours in my eyes is just as good as any album green day has ever put out.
wow i love this song so much. i relate to it so much. well, i dont so much anymore, but i used to. it really helped me, just to think that i wasnt alone and someone felt slightly the way i did. great song.

It's about BJ's mum being upset over her b/f ("looks like he left you without a trace"). I heard he wrote it when he was 12 from several sources, but oh well. This albums great, more sappy than the other albums but thats what everyones first songs are about when they're young- girls and trouble with growing up! I got the remastered version from the lookout sight, its extra features are great, especially the videos and radio recordings of them playing live when they're not even 20. The sound quality is much better, but still not as clean and well done as the other albums, but hey, it's what they're playing that counts! :D
