Weather Report (Part 1) Lyrics
Winter rain, now tell me why, Summers fade, and roses die.
The answer came; the wind and rain.
Golden hills, now veiled in grey, Summer leaves have blown away
Now what remains? The wind and rain.
And like a desert spring, my lover comes and spreads her wings, Knowing,
Like a song that's born to soar the sky, Flowing,
Flowing 'til the waters all are dry, Growing, the loving in her eyes.
Circle songs and sands of time, and seasons will end in tumbled rhyme,
and little change, the wind and rain.
And like a desert spring, my lover comes and spreads her wings,
Knowing, Like a song that's born to soar the sky,
Flowing, Flowing 'til the rivers all are dry, Growing, the loving in her eyes.
Winter grey and falling rain, we'll see summer come again,
Darkness falls and seasons change (gonna happen every time).
Same old friends the wind and rain, Summers fade and roses die,
You'll see summer come again, Like a song that's born to soar the sky.

Lovely song. Simply about how sad it is when Summer fades to Winter (as far as I can tell). The chord changes are so beutiful, and this is one song at least where Donna's vocals are never overdone ^_^
yeah i don't know, i can't believe no one else has commented on this song. it's simply one of the best dead songs and probably the best weir song. i do believe he wrote at least this part. awesome fuckin song. let it grow gets way more complicated lyrically. some say it's about letting weed grow but i think it runs deeper. it has to do with letting trust and feeling build between lovers, allowing you to "greatly yield" when the two of you have fallen mutually. you have his/her trust and they're not going to leave you.
not enough dead fans on this site
One of their very best songs.
"What shall we say, shall we call it by a name" was a line my ex and I used to use on each other.
Commenting about what was good -- and bad -- in our relationship.
All I can say is -- Thank God for my son!
