I'm one of those things you save forever but never need
Like an old newspaper no one has time to read
This child has grown into a dead end
Since I lost the power to pretend
But it's alright, that's who I am inside
Not much to say on this non-toxic, ordinary day
That's no superhero standing right in front of us
So take this pocket full of kryptonite and beat it back to Metropolis
There's only room for one on this microphone
In my finest hour I'm still alone
But old news can change, as memories float downstream
So don't judge me by my failures, only by my dreams
Like an old newspaper no one has time to read
This child has grown into a dead end
Since I lost the power to pretend
Not much to say on this non-toxic, ordinary day
So take this pocket full of kryptonite and beat it back to Metropolis
There's only room for one on this microphone
In my finest hour I'm still alone
So don't judge me by my failures, only by my dreams

I connect with this song for some reason. Mitch Allen has this way with melody and artistic expression. This whole album is truly amazing and a staple in my CD collection.
This so is soo good. SR-71 is an awesome band.
"so don't judge me by my failures, but only by my dreams" thats the philosophy i live by. absolutely brilliant!!! SR-71 ROX!! RIP jeff reid
This is a very simple, yet very deep song. He knows he is not much but he likes the way he is. I got totally hypnotized by the song when I heard it the first time because I felt the same way.
yea SR-71 is definitely not as known as they should be. all their lyrics are so well written.
