The song is not about going on tour -- it's about drug running. The point of view is the drug runner. He's talking to the people in his life and explaining why he has to do this for a living. It's not meant to be uplifting, because even though he promises he'll be back in November, there's still that reference in the opening to other runners who don't come back. It's depressing, because this guy might end up being one of them.

First of all, amazing song. Wellreally is correct about what the song is about. I do believe however that the lyrics says "Hip Hop turns to the future of rock when I smash a pumpkin". Get it?

Lewisi, the actual album this song is on is titled "The Carnival". So no, he's not talking about carnival cruise line.
Good lord. I'm shocked there are people that have actually listened to this song enough to want to post here that don't realize that the song is not about a cruise line, or about going on tour.
Its about drug running. Period
The song can mean different things to diff people- I see it as a drug dealer talking to his family and whatever, but then there are lots of parts that remind me of someone going into the army. Crazay- Wyclef is awesome.
