For people there, ( at the last show ) It seemed like 75,000 people knew he was on his way out...
This song is so sweet, (statements just seem vain at last!) Jerry's love affair with his fans is eternal. And we he sang this to you live, it was so personal, like it was sung from inside you.

This song is so good and so heartfelt and sad on the so many roads box set. It almost seems like Jerry knew he was on his way out

You've got the obvious "where do I go with my life? which road do I take?" thing going on all while Hunter throws in musical references throughout. Very clever. "Blackbird", "Bluebird Hill", "Whining Boy", "Ain't That a Shame?", "KC", "Kokamo", "jug band", "If You Don't, Who Else Will", "I Call Your Name" are all songs, lyrics, and/or some sort of musical reference, and I'm sure I missed some.

Anyone who has ever struggled with I.V. Cocaine, Meth (ice) (old school meth was/is blue), and heroin; should get the message loud and clear. Most beautiful song about, and poetic picture of an I.V. drug addicts tortured soul and frustration when they run out of veins to shoot up in. Jerry was human and crying the same tears that street junkies shed. Sad part is hearing thousands of people cheer while he wept, explained, related (to some), and uveiled to them his innermost and tortured soul. Interpretation by Brenton Laroy Campbell. 11/18/2018
