Mull of Kintyre Lyrics
Mull Of Kintyre
Oh Mist Rolling In From The Sea,
My Desire Is Always To Be Here
Oh Mull Of Kintyre
Far Have I Traveled And Much Have I Seen
Dark Distant Mountains With Valleys Of Green.
Past Painted Deserts The Sunset's On Fire
As He Carries Me Home To The Mull Of Kintyre.
Mull Of Kintyre
Oh Mist Rolling In From The Sea,
My Desire Is Always To Be Here
Oh Mull Of Kintyre
Sweep Through the Heather Like Deer In The Glen
Carry Me Back To The Days I Knew Then.
Nights When We Sang Like A Heavenly Choir
Of The Life And The Time Of The Mull Of Kintyre.
Mull Of Kintyre
Oh Mist Rolling In From The Sea,
My Desire Is Always To Be Here
Oh Mull Of Kintyre
Smiles in the sunshine
And tears in the rain
Still take me back to where my memories remain
Flickering embers growing higher and higher
As they carry me back to the Mull of Kintyre
Mull Of Kintyre
Oh Mist Rolling In From The Sea,
My Desire Is Always To Be Here
Oh Mull Of Kintyre
Mull Of Kintyre

Apparently the Mull of Kintyre is a European(?) landmark, similar to The Grand Canyon in the U.S. I'm not sure where it is.... Scotland, perhaps (that would explain the bagpipes).
This was a big, BIG worldwide hit for Paul, but did very little on the U.S. singles charts.
i love this song, just the tune of it makes me feel so happy! i didnt even realise that paul sang it, and when i did, yay! ex-beatle!
scotland baby, what a underated song.its about the life of scotland and shit
Man this brings me back! My dad used to sing this song to me when i was a wee bairn to get me to sleep on a night.
Where does the time go? Just having a bit of a "reminicing" moment here... excuse me, my eye seems to be leaking.....
To majestikmoose9 - How the hell can you hate this song??
I remember when ma mother took me to Mull Of Kintyre, and she always sung that song to me at nite, to get me ta sleep.
We were there when ma grandfather died.
He had his funeral there.

Such a beautiful song......
Far Have I Traveled And Much Have I Seen Dark Distant Mountains With Valleys Of Green. Past Painted Deserts The Son Sets On Fire As He Carries Me Home To The Mull Of Kintyre.
"The Son sets on fire as He carries me home."
Just an interpretation, but it would explain who the "He" is in that line.
I hate this song. That is all.
