For some reason, I got the idea "Country Dreamer" may be another of Paul's songs to a pet, like "Martha My Dear" is to a dog, and "Jet" is to either a dog or a horse.
"May" or "May" is often short for "Mary". Paul's daughter Mary McCartney was about 3 years old when this song was written. Perhaps it's to her.
