I Do Lyrics
I got a little bit of reason
For everything I've done
I might just serenade the moonlight
And I get so lonely in this crowd
I want to scream but make no sound
And yeah I'm lost but maybe I'll be fine
Cause when I'm in over my head
I hear the words you said
That someone out there's
Listening to the same song
Feeling the same way that I do
Make me a believer pick up the receiver
And tell me you feel just like I do
I do
And I couldn't bear to see you walk out
And leave it all behind
I couldn't bear to see the sunlight
And I love the sound of rain on tin
Your screen door beckoning me in
And yeah I'm mad but overcome with joy
Could it be so damn naive
To hope you could agree?
That someone out there's
Listening to the same song
Feeling the same way that I do
Make me a believer pick up the receiver
Tell me you feel just like I do
I do
In a world that's cellophane
You get so lost I know you do
In a world that's cellophane
Someone out there's
Listening to the same song
Feeling the same way that I do
Make me a believer pick up the receiver
Tell me you feel just like I do
I do
Someone out there's
Listening to the same song
Feeling the same way that I do
Make me a believer pick up the receiver
And tell me you feel just like I do
I do
For everything I've done
I might just serenade the moonlight
I want to scream but make no sound
And yeah I'm lost but maybe I'll be fine

This is one of my favorite songs on the new album Closer, and probably one of my favorite songs by the band as a whole. I just connected with this song. My home town boys set it perfectly. I can be as down as possible, but somewhere, there's someone who's just as sad. The song is about a break up, and the guy in the song is saddened. So, what happens? The friend of both of the people who doesn't take sides just says that the other is feeling just as bad. The chorus is about asking forgiveness for whatever caused the break-up, and maybe going back to a friendship of sorts. The guy just wants to know that the girl is not out of his life because she means too much to him.
BTE always amazes me with their lyrics. this is a sweet song!-i love it :)
i love the chorus "someone's out there's listening to the same song feeling the same way that i do" ah, yeah that hit the spot.
from the first time i heard this song, i knew it had to be about finding love. when i was younger, i knew so many girls who, as much as i was attracted to them, we never could have a real connection. there was something missing. fortunately for me, there was someone out there
"Listening to the same song Feeling the same way that I do"
AWESOME SONG....after the second "cellophane", at 2:32, the bass line is awesome...I always turn up the bass for this song and turn it loud right at that point. I found it to be all about a girl telling a guy, there's someone out there that is perfect for you, but it's not me. But everytime she talks to him or invites him over, he thinks maybe she'll realize that she is the one that is perfect for him, but she never does. And so now he is mad that she doesn't think she is the one for him, yet he still gets "overcome with joy" whenever she so much as says hi. He reads more into it then she is intending.
This song is simply incredible. It had me from that "Ooooh yeah!" at the beginning. Reason enough to start listening to the band. The message is simple, has faith when you feel down because some else somewhere feels the same way, a simple message of hope and comfort brought to you with exceeding charm and beauty. I could seriously listen to this for another hundred times and not tire of it. Anyone at least vaguely into alternative rock hasn't lived until they heard this.
