Do Wah Diddy Diddy Lyrics
There she was just walkin' down the street,
singin' do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
Poppin' her fingers and shufflin' her feet,
singin' do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
She looked good (looked good)
she looked fine (looked fine)
she looked good, she looked fine
and I nearly lost my mind.
Before I knew it she was walkin' next to me,
singin' do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
Holdin' my hand just as natural as can be,
singin' do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
We walked on (walked on)
to my door (my door)
we walked on to my door,
then we kissed a little more.
Wo-o-o-oh, I knew we were falling in love,
yes I did, and so I told her all the things
that I'd been dreamin' of.
Now we're together nearly every single day
singin' do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
We're so happy and that how we're gonna stay
singin' do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do.
Well I'm hers (I'm hers)
she's mine (she's mine)
I'm hers, she's mine,
wedding bells are gonna chime.
Wo-o-o-oh, I knew we were falling in love,

this catchy tune, do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do, is so contagious that it has caused a man to be enchanted by a chick swaggering down the street. he is beguiled by her ostensible beauty and her lovely voice. through this melodious tune, this vamp has ingratiated herself with this cool dadio. now they live together and probably share the same bed. all because of a nifty beat.
Ummm...You speak English?

Kidding. Some words I don't understand though but I get what you mean.

@shauncreaney Yes, a very catchy tune she sang. But the point of the song is that he doesn't need to know her language or what her song means because it's not her words that matter to him! It was out at a time when America didn't have this isolationist attitude with "everyone in MY country has to know and speak American English" so there were songs on the top 40 radio stations that were not in English but were still enjoyed! Folks even would sing them not even knowing what the words in foreign language meant. Songs...

Look up these and love them without knowing what they say! Scotty
I really like this song and hear it very little on Classic Rock stations. I just now learned who recorded it. I am a slow one to catch to who sings what.
This is cool version of a love song that could have been recorded in the fifties.
MK
This song is from the 1960s so it could be classed as a classic or an oldie...depending!
Do Wah Diddy Diddy Dum Diddy Do~ :)
Cheery :)
Love this song...I agree with de first person. Shauncreany is it?
Yeah, MK, I hear ya on that. I always thought this was some oldies group. I thought Manfred Mann's Earth Band was a classic rock group from the "Blinded By The Light" song which is very classic rocki-ish, as opposed to this song which is very oldies-ish. Both great songs either way.
