Everything Falls Apart Lyrics
Don't look now
things just got worse
I'm drunk and I swear this crescent,
is just a curse
I got here
by killing off all my friends
I think I figured out my life begins
when the fun ends
I got my wings,
I'm free to go as I please
yeah, I got my wings,
now nothing really pleases me
'till everything falls apart
then I get to
try to put it back together
yeah, it falls apart
you can count on that,
count on bad, bad whether again
Was it good?
I don't remember much about it
when things start to feel right
you can count on me
to start to doubt it
And the devil's not
in the details
No, the devil's in my pants, and it's
shoot first apologize later
another quick end to a short shod romance
So I got what I wanted,
now I don't want anything
yeah, I got what I wanted
and now my life is just boring
'till everything falls apart
then I get to
try to put it back together
yeah, it falls apart
you can count on that,
count on bad, bad whether again
I met god this afternoon,
riding on an uptown train
I said, "don't you have better things to do?"
he said, "if I do my job,
what would you complain about?
So I let it go to hell,
now I have something to do"
he said, "I let it go to hell,
Does that sound familiar to you?"
When everything falls apart
then I get to try to put it back together
yeah, it falls apart
you can count on that
count on bad, bad whether
Well everything falls apart,
baby, sooner or later
gonna come back together
well everything that come together
sooner or later gonna fall apart
and you can call it anything you want
they're gonna take it all away from you
you're gonna wake up, wake up, wake up scared
gonna find yourself
lost in hell...
things just got worse

Ok, lets give this song a bit more credit. He is singing about how every time he gets into something that is actually good, he feels uneasy and restless and needs to go try to find something else. "when things start to feel right you can count on me to start to doubt it." He got into a relationship with some girl and although she falls in love and there is a lot of potential there, after getting what he wants, being sex, he has the urge to keep moving. He doesnt like how he is like that and it makes him feel guilty. He feels guilty for hurting these girls and it makes him feel bad about himself. This is why he references the devil. He asks God why he is like this, where the hell he is, why cant he keep him in line? If God did his job then everything would just be perfect. But God just left it up to him to fix his own problems. One of these days he will wake up and see what he really needs.
what does this song mean to me? one word.... everything
@dnilb eye driht that was so brilliant.

Great song, and I can definitely relate. I think it's meaning isn't too difficult to figure out. When things go wrong, this guy feels at ease. For some people, like myself, being in a groove can be a scary thing. Life tends to feel stale and predictable. I'm sure many of you can understand where I'm coming from, right? When he says "Then I get to put it back together", I'm fairly certain he's being sarcastic. But despite the sarcasm putting things back together is when he really feels alive. It's the process of picking up the pieces that fulfills this guy. One could argue that he's delusional in his approach toward life, but not me. He gives it away at the end of the song with the lyric "You're gonna wake up scared. Gonna find yourself lost in hell...." He knows that the key to real happiness is keeping it simple and getting away from all the confusion. My two cents.
@CMan0928 I created an account just so I could respond to this very old posting. Dude.... you just described my husband. I am saving this just to read to my therapist. You opened my eyes. Thank you for sharing.

lovely song that emphasizes the universal law of what goes up, would certainly go down...you can't be stuck on the safe mode all the time, expect the unexpected, not to be fatalistic, but life is, it is what it is...shit does really happen and so does great times...learn from the former, cherish the latter...
i'm going to hell...anyone want to join me? i like to stand there and gaze and possibly help a poor soul out.
seriously, all you have to do is keep your corner of the world in order then everyone will know peace and make love.
and the devil's not in the details no the devil is in my hand it sounds to me like he says "no the devil is in my pants" that can relate a little more to me
It's definitely "the devil is in my pants". Great line. Great lyrics.
The lyrics are all wrong, it is definitely "The devils is in my pants" I suggest getting the lyrics for this song somewhere else.
In my opinion, this is a prime example of someone not being happy until they are miserable. Some people just repeatedly dig the same holes over and over again and sabotage good relationships because they can’t handle the intense emotions it stirs inside of them. So it’s easier to end the relationship than embrace vulnerability. When the current round of self-loathing and pains from the relationship ends, the person will start the vicious cycle all over again. I feel sorry for this type of person because they will most likely end up alone in the end.
one of the WORST songs i've heard in my life .... it would've been a little better if it was a heavier song .... the lead singer would be better off singing pop .... doouchebag !
