i love this song as well. i was first introduced to howie about a year and a half ago...and have been in love ever since. this is one of my favorites. i think this song is about two friends. a guy and a girl...but both want to be more than friends...but don't tell each other."it’s your secret why would you tell it to me? she does love hime. but won't say it. love the lines "it’s your love affair / on a quiet sunday afternoon / and your speedy pills / you should know i’m into you". i can totally relate, when you KNOW that somebody is attracted to you, and you KNOW that they know you're completely into them, but they won't let you do anything about it! and you just keep wondering, "why would you try not to see?"
I saw Howie for the 3rd time a couple months ago when he came to the ATL. Not the best show I've seen by him, but still pretty damn good. He mentioned before he performed this song that this is actually about a girl who has an abortion. I thought it was a little twisted, but the more I listened to it the more it made sense. Just goes to show you how crazy some of Howie's songs are. I mean, come on, I love him, but he's a little off the wall. Either way, thought fans might appreciate being able to understand another one of his amazing songs.
