Titanium Expose Lyrics
[Thurston]
Waking up i see you dreaming of a drivin'
open your eyes to see tv set in blue
i've been waiting for you to smile, i'm pretty freezin'
wintertime come summer, you are why it's happenin'
[Kim]
sugar babe sugar babe do it to me
do me babe do me babe can't you see me?
i'm sugar now sugar now do it to me
do me babe do me babe can't you see me?
[Thurston]
i feel the morning slip it sights into your mirror
now i see why you might see it's pretty clear
i been looking just to feel that funny feeling
i don't know but it's a mystery to reckon
right!
[Kim]
sugar babe sugar babe do it to me
do me babe do me babe can't you see me?
i'm sugar now sugar now do it to me
do me babe do me babe can't you see me?
Waking up i see you dreaming of a drivin'

Another jumble of words from the Youth that add up to a lyric to paste onto the music. Does it make proper sense is the whole purpose of this site. I say know. I love the band, too, but their lyrics are always as extreme as the music they make. It might be about a relationship/media comment ... or it's about a piece of gum on the pavement. You decide. Sonic Youth went through a patch of treading water, and this album was in that period. You decide.
I love this song to death. I first heard it in a Toy Machine skate video called "Welcome to Hell". This was my introduction to Sonic Youth.
I think this song is about wanting more than what you have. Knowning something is missing in your life, and taking a guess at what you need/want.
I think it's about a lady who left him, and he couldn't get turned on; he was "frozen" during "wintertime" which was triggered by her leaving. She comes bringing "summertime", making things hot again and turning him on. All of it's because of her; she's summer and winter. "sugar babe... do it to me... do me now" He's been waiting for that "funny feeling" sex? Or maybe it's all about drugs(the lyrics fit for both). but "I don't know, it's a mystery to reckon with"
sorry about this double-post, but i think on the track-listing on the back of the CD, the word 'expose' has an accent on it ("exposé") - which makes it 'a declaration of facts', as opposed to the verb enkidu stated. in this case, it is a declaration of facts about titanium. if we tie it in with enkidu's definition of titanium, the 'titanium exposé" is the guy revealing his titanium - his hardness, etc, which is brought on by the girl's return. so i think it's about sex, but love too.

on the live version kim says "shiverin' babe" instead of sugar babe
the lyrics here are wrong. the chorus is in fact "sugar babe, sugar babe, turn the TV, turn it babe, turn it babe, can't you see me? sugar now, sugar now, turn the TV, turn it babe, turn it babe, can't you see me? check on sonicyouth.com if you don't believe me.
the lyrics are right, wat are you talking about??
I think wiggy is right. "Turn your (or the) TV" sounds a lot more like what she's saying and it makes a lot more sense with "Can't you see me?"
But either way, phenomenal song, phenomenal album.
Sonic Youth lyrics are hilarious because they make even LESS sense than the lyrics of that (I'll say it) charlatan Bob Dylan
