good song... it inspired my name!... i like the bass on this song... sonic youth is so kickass... yeah
for some reason, when i first listened to this song, i always got the impression that the chick Goo was lesbian.. because the guys were saying "hey Goo what's new" (cracking onto her) and she said "pee-yew" to them, and guys in general (because she was gay). i don't know if that is right, it's just the impression i got at first. great song, so fun.

Its hard to tell but Hey you makes more sense.
i think the lyric might be "she can play the drumset, too" rather than "she can play the drums in two". seems to make more sense and of course it's important for rock lyrics to not be vague in any way.
I always heard "and lays down 'most anywhere," which could be a mondegreen. and if so, amusingly Freudian. however, I'm not certain "they stand almost anywhere" is more credible.
The song is about a punk rock shit who is empowered and doesn't give a fuck. The boys in the scene think she's hot and try to hit on her without knowing anything about her - not even her name. She just shrugs them off.

it's the peeyew kind. i take it the simple way... it's about goo. and how we all have it. and how maybe it's actually grossed out of us. so just be friends with it, cuz it's part you, too.
in the video clip she pinches her nose every time she says pee-yew so yes it is pee-yew not hey you. and if this song is about groupies then i think its about the stereo type on them and goo doesnt fit it and is trying to make a point about it. but yeah i'm not sure
