Creme Brulee

I have a friend with whom I have listened to Sonic Youth for years, and this songs has been theme of conversation a lot of times. We've talked about that disappointing moments in life when one of us had a crush on some girl, and when things were looking good... she came out with that line: "I'm so happy, we're just friends".

From those years on, we referred to that situation as "She did a Creme Brulee to you!". Argh!

Haven't ya heard: Black on White outta sight - Black on Slope there ain't no hope

This song is hilarious. I have a good friend whom I often share creme brulee with, and I thought it might be charming to throw this on one of her mixes. Alas, the last line ruins it: I'd like something more than that. Nonetheless, Kim sort of embodies the ambiguity in male / female relationships. While the verses are relatively nonsensical, the repeating line is certainly loaded with meaning, suggesting a couple that is hooking up, perhaps outside of some natural boundaries, in a situation that can't possibly last. There's irony in the last line, then, but it's bitter and, though she delivers it with aplomb, sort of sad.

I love how it sounds all sexy, and then she intentionally ruins it. The weirder lines are to me the awkward small talk the characters are making.

I love the quiet seductive tone Kim sings this in, it's such a dirty sexy song and then at the end... ruins it with the friend thing. It's like a hormonal flare-up at someone who you arent attracted to. :p and I love the Neil Young line xD
