100% Lyrics
[Thurston]
I can never forget you
the way you rock the girls
they move a world and love you
you're blasting the underworld
i stick a knife in my head
a-thinking 'bout your eyes
but now that you been shot dead
i got a new surprise
but i been waitin' for you just to say
he's off to check his mind
but all i know is you got no money
but that's got nothing to do with a good time
can you forgive the boy who
shot you in the head
or should you get a gun and
go and get revenge?
a 100% of my love
up to you true star
it's hard to believe you took off
i always thought you'd go far
but i been around the world a million times
and all you men are slime
it gone to my head
goodbye i am dead
wastewood rockers is time for crap
hey
I can never forget you
the way you rock the girls
they move a world and love you
you're blasting the underworld
a-thinking 'bout your eyes
but now that you been shot dead
i got a new surprise
he's off to check his mind
but all i know is you got no money
but that's got nothing to do with a good time
shot you in the head
or should you get a gun and
go and get revenge?
up to you true star
it's hard to believe you took off
i always thought you'd go far
and all you men are slime
it gone to my head
goodbye i am dead
wastewood rockers is time for crap
hey

i heard that this song was inspired by the murder of joe cole.
This is also the first song I ever heard from Sonic Youth and it instantly blew my mind. Of course that I didn't understand anything about its lyrics, and I still haven't. But that's the way with Sonic Youth: their lyrics are rarely clear, much less straightforward.
Anyway, this song seems to flirt with the idea of extremes and intense situations... From the title itself to the images of never forgeting, Moving the world, sticking a knife in a head, shooting someone in the head and beeing the world a million times. It's more the expression of a deep feeling than anything else. Which feeling? It doesn't show. And I believe it never will.
@Alieno It's about Joe Cole who was shot and killed in front of Henry Rollins outside their home

Love this song, but according to SY's website, the lyrics here are a little off.
"he's off to check his mind" is supposed to be "the zoftig chick is mine"
and
"it gone to my head goodbye i am dead wastewood rockers is time for crap" is supposed to be "Gun to my head, goodbye I am dead Wastewood rockers, it's time for crime!"
@natashalaika Perfect.

joe cole was a roadie for black flag and good friends with greg ginn and henry rollins along with sonic youth. he was murdered by people who were robbing his house.
I hear this song when my phone rings, and I usually enjoy listening too much to answer.
This is the first Sonic Youth song I ever heard. I heard it on someones MySpace, I was a huge Nirvana fan and I'd heard of SY but never listened. Since then, I was hooked. I also love the skateboardring in the video, and the house party. Haha, makes me wanna dance like Kim Gordon.
no comments? no way! this song is so good, i love the bass riff...oh yeah...anyways, that's what i think...
yeah sonic youth rocks. this was the first song i ever heard from them

CORRECTION FROM THE LAST ENTRY:
Instead of "beeing the world" it's "being around the world"
