The World Looks Red Lyrics
Push it away
The world looks red
People with fisheyes
The ground sucks
Walk on my fingertips
Displacing the fog
The weight of my body
Is too much to bear
The memory drained
The life from the doll
An ocean of insects
Moved like a sheet
The immovable fact
Buried my mind
In a horsehair coat
In a pile
On the floor
Push it away
The world looks red
People with fish eyes
The ground sucks
Walk on my fingertips
Displacing the fog
The weight of my body
Is too much to bear
The memory drained
The life from the doll
The ocean of insects
Moved like a sheet
The immovable fact
Buried my mind
In a horsehair coat
In a pile
On the floor
The world looks red
People with fisheyes
The ground sucks
Walk on my fingertips
Displacing the fog
The weight of my body
Is too much to bear
The memory drained
The life from the doll
An ocean of insects
Moved like a sheet
The immovable fact
Buried my mind
In a horsehair coat
In a pile
On the floor
The world looks red
People with fish eyes
The ground sucks
Walk on my fingertips
Displacing the fog
The weight of my body
Is too much to bear
The memory drained
The life from the doll
The ocean of insects
Moved like a sheet
The immovable fact
Buried my mind
In a horsehair coat
In a pile
On the floor

bwahaha this is written by gira? i was JUST thinking 'wow this album sounds a lot like swans.' got it. anyways, people with fish eyes are christians. the ground sucks= this mundane reality. insect worked like a sheet= slaves stuck in capitalist lifestyles. horsehair coat= hair shirt, saints, martyrdom...
hello... duh... wake up.
I like the complete logic of this song. When you take more than life should offer, the paint peels from your mind and flakes on the floor of your dreams. Sea Monkeys become your friends, if only to say hello, and every elf from Santa's Village camps out in your memory, ready to take you whole. I think the Youth have captured this scenario very succinctly, and offer something brimming with pleasures so cold
just viewing the bad part of the world. how much it affects you mentally and how worse things can get. the lyrics are very abstract but i assume it's about that.
very awesome song. i love lee's screwdriver wailing on the guitar. i love that sound.
Actually penned by Swans lyricist and lead singer/terrorist Michael Gira. That man has a strange mind...
Everything closing in on you as you lie huddled in an autistic panic attack because it's just too much...
