Mordred's Song Lyrics
I've lost my battle before it starts
my first breath wasn't done
my spirit's sunken deep
into the ground
why am I alone
I can hear my heartbeat
silence's all around
See hat will rise
so don't come closer
fear your child
born with a king's heart
but fate fooled me
and changed my cards
noone asked if I want it
if I like it
Ref.:
Pain inside is rising
I am the fallen one
a figure in an old game
no Joker's on my side
I plunged into misery
I'll turn off the light
and murder the dawn
turn off the light
and murder the dawn
Nothing else,
but laughter is around me
forevermore
noone can heal me
nothing can save me
noone can heal me
I've gone beyond the truth
it's just another lie
wash away the blood on my hands
my father's blood
in agony we're unified
I never wanted to be
what they told me to be
fulfill my fate then I'll be free
god knows how long
I tried to change fate
(Solo)

This song is about the fight Mordred, King Authur's only son, had with his father. Mordred and King Authur both fatally wounded each other, but Authur was taken to Avolon and healed, while Mordred was left to die. He was raised by a witch who told him that he must kill his father. The song is from Mordred's perspective.
This song could also be depicted about Mordred Deschain, Son of Roland Deschain of Gilead in The Dark Tower series.
Makes me think of how he loathes his father and being alone. A very evil character. It's a shame he was only in the book for a short time.
The first song I heard by Blind Guardian, incredible song. And well, as the title suggests it's obviously about Mordred, Arthur's son
Yes, very alternative points of view have The Bards sometimes ~
I just love them xD
And this songs is great, thanks for the comment, Mordred himself =o
Sing it brother ;)
This song is an awesome song and Im quite surprised not many people have commented on this song and how beautiful it is....One of my favorite from Blind Guardian
Very cool song!
It's very usual thing to Hansi - make a victim from a hunter - show things from a different side. We may see such views in his Demons&Wizards songs like Whistler and Wicked Witch, where evil-ones turns into victims.
Such an amazing song "In agony we're unified." It makes perfect sense if you know the story.
