Summerholidays vs. Punkroutine Lyrics
I'm tired of losing myself to some stupid childhood dream of what I could have been. Money proves the point and I'm stuck between summer holidays and punk routine. I shoot off a 100 things to remain more sorry than safe. You see, I only get thischance once and I just can't let it be. And I'm still certain that what motivates me is more rewarding than any piece of paper could be. Well adjusted and corrupt, all those icons that stole our teenage lust. A scenario of simplicity, a scenario of you and me x2 Rather be forgooten than remembered for giving in. We're all tired of dying - so sick of not trying. Scared that we might fail - We'll accomplish nothing. Not even failure.

This totally embodies the paranoid ultra-left-wing attitudes of this ex-group.
"Rather be forgotten than be remembered for giving in ...0We'll accomplish nothing. Not even failure"
depressing. But true. As a group they didn't accomplish very much politically. They probably knew this. but the chorus is just sweet, even more so considering that it's pretty much the only line you can0make out.
well what you said was true but Refused did showed us that music doesn't have to be about a soem bitchy girl that broke somebody's heart. it can be about issues that matter.
didnt we all know that? i mean why was music ever about some bitchy girl in the first place? - we only get this fuckin chance once..just cant let it be. dont yall learn anything?
"paranoid ultra left wing"...Did you vote for Bush? Refused accomplished what they could without "giving in". Maybe you think they'll accomplish more bieng popband like the international noise conspiracy? Refused spoke to those having the guts to do smthg for revolution, TINC speaks to the mass, which way is the best to accomplish revolution? I don't know
thats the eternal paradox of punk rock. wanting to conquer and change the world but simultaneously too anti-mainstream to ever appeal to the mass audience they need for this to succeed. If a punk band stays "true" they are appealing to only a few people willing to look beyond what the radio and music video channels spoonfeed them every day. The punk/hardcore 'indie' band's music can be vital, life-changing and revolutionary, but for it to be taken seriously it cannot sell out. Not selling out is the saviour and fatal blow to this sorta music - unfortunately it will only ever appeal to too small an audience to make a difference in society at large when such revision and revolution requires significant citizen participation. but if you sell out and go mainstream in the music to get the message out the system will incorporate you, desex you, making you impotent to incite change, and assimilate you into itself (Offspring anyone?). so the system has already won. This is what Lyxzen realises and I think what this song's talking about, it's an optimistic push to keep trying even if failure is the inevitable result. i guess he didn't listen to himself tho, and T(I)NC is his attempt to keep the lyrics left-wing revolutionary and write music to appeal to a wide audience. he wanted it both ways. a bold move, but he lost the devoted fans (who are more likely to have the fiery passion and spirit such social eruption requires in its leaders) he needed when he softened the music.
Who's saying they didn't achieve much? Maybe they never had tangible results, but everyone should remember that both punk and politics are about attitude and mindset. Look at the number of people that site them as ahuge influence. If they can change the attitudes and open the eyes/minds of even just a few dozen people, that's already an important achievement. And anyway, the attitude running through the album is one of the things that make it so great in the first place.
im so glad you pointed this out. refused are huge influences in for so many. i would list them myself, and ive only even known about them for a year! but now i feel like i didn't even know music before, this was an awakening. -refused-

Everyone calls T(i)NC a freaking punk pop or pop rock or whatever but what the hell, they are in no way in my opinion main stream, has neone even bought the CD, i mean all being mainstream is about changing urself to fit in, but T(i)NC are original in neway and can u relate them to ne mainstream band out there now?

Yeah, they're definitely more accessible than Refused, but they're still far from mainstream.
garbletext, you are a fucking moron. they aren't paranoid for knowing that as an underground hardcore punk band from Sweden, their influence on the world is minimal. that's called realism, you fucking twat.
