Dr. Seuss Is Dead Lyrics

Dr. Seuss is dead
We await... life
Dr. Seuss is dead

A cloud of flies obscure the sun
A stone is dropped
A dream undone
Ripples grow and ride the tide
The dead things crawls from deep inside

With it's dying
Sour breath
The burning smell of insect flesh
Hungry things in circles crowd
Around T.V's turned up too loud

We are the dead next door
Turned up to loud
Where the dirty needles shine and litter the floor
It's too fucking loud
Taste the light, inject the lord
It's too fucking loud
I cut my self again because I'm so fucking bored
It's too fucking loud
We are the dead next door
It's too fucking loud
Where the dirty needles shine and litter the floor
It's too fucking loud
Taste the light, inject the lord
It's too fucking loud
I cut my self again because I'm so fucking bored
Motherfuck yeah!

We await...life
Dr. Suess is dead

The dream is swirling
I'm alone
Where the streets are paved with bone
Buildings with a hundred eyes
Watch me through the swarming flie

Behind shade pulled down tight
Things are growing without light

Hungry things in circles crowd
Around TV's turned up too loud

We are the dead next door
Turned up to loud
Where the dirty needles shine and litter the floor
It's too fucking loud
Taste the light, inject the lord
It's too fucking loud
I cut my self again because I'm so fucking bored
It's too fucking loud
We are the dead next door
It's too fucking loud
Where the dirty needles shine and litter the floor
It's too fucking loud
Taste the light, inject the lord
It's too fucking loud
I cut my self again because I'm so fucking bored
Motherfuck yeah!

The dream sea has been poisoned
Stoplight flashes me red
Innocence sufficated in it's sleep
Dr. Suess is dead
The dream sea has been poisoned
Stoplight flashes me red
Innocence sufficated in it's sleep
Dr. Suess is dead
Dead
Dead
Dead
He's fucking dead

Try actually reading the song lyrics before you make assumptions. This song shows no disrespect towards Dr. Seuss...

"the dream sea has been poisoned" "innocence suffocated in its sleep"

The death of innocence, poisoning of creativity and dreams... doesn't sound like disrespect to me.

Usually songs like these are constantly misjudged. The schizophrenic dark nature the song gives kind of gives off if you will. Will probably make many who actually listen to this to be convinced these guys are a bunch of psychopaths. But in truth he's just writing poetry of what truly is going on in the minds and hearts of many. Innocence Lost from whatever horror came their way.. this song is definitely about the loss of Innocence and are childlike innocence and mindset that is never supposed to leave our hearts and souls till the day we die. The imagination...

Did you guys know that alot of the lyrics of this song are taken almost directly from a swamp thing comic book?

AB lyric: a cloud of flies obscure the sun ST line: The light changed, as if a cloud of blowflies suddenly obscured the sun.

AB lyric: the burning smell of insect flesh ST line: ... a sudden scent of smoldering insect flesh

AB lyric: a stone is dropped a dream undone ripples grow and ride the tide the dead things crawl from deep inside ST line: ..then someone dropped a dark and polished stone into her dream pool, shattering the image with ripples like conjurers hoops

AB lyric: dead things crawl from deep inside ST line: from deep inside her the bad thing starts to crawl towards the light

Anyway I always thought the song was about the loss of innocene as well but he does say its about death on the dvd.

Lol, I totally didn't know Dr. Suess was dead until I heard this song. Shows how much outta the loop I am. I love this song though. XD Acid Bath kicks ass. Anyway, yeah, this song is obivously about the loss of innocence and the corruption of purity and all that's right and good with the world. The things it describes -- "flies", "insect flesh", "needles", "paved with bone" -- it's all negative imagery that is associate with not-good things. And by talking about the death of Dr. Suess, that even furthers the image of dead innocence because when people think of Dr. Suess, they generally think of all his children's books, which many Americans hold fond in their memories. However, after hearing this song, I did a little research on Dr. Suess and found out that he had what you might call a "dark side". During World War II, he drew political cartoons and some of them depicted Japanese Americans as traitors. I know when I found that out, I was a tad shocked. I always imagined Dr. Suess as this warm fuzzy guy who loved everyone. Lol, so, in a way, this song destroyed part of my innocence.

hmm..taking this all in..makes me think its about pop culture...dr sues ..the reference to comic books...famileys watching t.v....maybe its saying media causes people to grow up to fast..(btw dax mentions he finds the writters to certain comic books like swamp thing to be very poetic)

'Dr Suess' sounds sounds somewhat like 'Jesus' at times.
