On With The Show Lyrics

Frankie died just the other night
Some say it was suicide
But we know
How the story goes

With his six string knife
And his street wise pride
The boy was a man before his time
And she knew
All their dreams would come true

But ya see, Frankie was fast
Too fast to know
He wouldn't go slow
Until his lethal dose
And she knows
He'll finally come too close

(Chorus)
Well, on with the show
Going on with the show
Come on baby
No, no, no
Oh my, my, my. . . . . . (repeat)

He was bad
He was never good
But one thing that he understood
And she knew
All those lies would come true

The time has come and
He's paid his dues
Suzy finally got the news
She always knew
This day would come soon

(Chorus) (Chorus)

He was stopped on a dime
With a switchblade knife
Some damn punk went and took Frankie's life
And she knew
She'd have to pull through

Broken down, with his broken dreams
With a wink of an eye
Said Suzy, listen to me
You must go
On with the show

Go on with the show
Going on with the show
Come on baby
No no no
Oh my my my my. . . . . . (repeat)

Oh baby

Just a thought, but Nikki's birth name was Frank, maybe it's metaphors of leaving his past behind.

Yah, you would. the songs about Nikki leaving his old liife behind. so he is called frankie in it. refering to his old name. A very symbolic song if you ask me. a very cool one aswell. one on my fave ever songs.

This song is in Nikkis words from the book THE DIRT

"what right did he have to say i was not his son when he never even been a father to me?... First, i likked frank Feranna JR. in a song "On with the show" writing, 'Frankie died just th e other night/sine say ut was suicide/but we all know/how the storey goes.' then i made it legal"

This quote was taken from The Dirt confessions of the worlds most notorious rock band.

That quote refers to Nikki trying to contact his dad and he did and his dad just hung up on him, so he said he didnt want to have that son of a bitches last name so he went ahead and changed it to nikki sixx after they made it some guy was on the TV in Pheonix i think (his name was nikki syxx, Nikki liked that so he decided to take it) and the guy said "this guy stole my name and is giving you the devil" bassicly this is about him changing his name and killing frankie.

There you go. :) Lol. Good job knowing the Crue. :D

Yeah it's about my favourite bass player of all time's past being "destroyed". Nikki Sixx is the biggest fuckin legend ever. Of rock and metal legends, I'd rate him the 2nd most legendary, only after Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. Slash of GNR would come 3rd. Fuck yeah! The Crue forever!

I love the Crue, and I have seen them live twice. The first time I saw them was in 2005..and they played this one live. I was in a bad relationship, and really thinking about ending it...and this song to me is just about how a person has to go on with their life, and not let anything bother them.
