Keep Your Eye On The Money Lyrics

Black jack roulette
Losing high and low
She rolls the dice
She's cold as ice
Turn a young man old
Comedy and tragedy
Entertainment or death
Like sister morphine
Hooked on her game
Time to place your bets

If it wasn't for bad luck
I'd have no luck at all

Keep your eye on the money
Keep your eye on the dealer's hand
Keep your eye on the money
Keep your eye on the lady's hand

Queen of hearts
Or Ace of spades
I'm dancing on the blade
Freak show, goin' broke
The crowd screams on for more
Electric shock won't bring ya back
You've gone over the boards
Can't beat the clock, the deck
is stacked
The crowd looks on in horror

If it wasn't for bad luck
I'd have no luck at all

Keep your eye on the money
Keep your eye on the dealer's hand
Keep your eye on the money
Keep your eye on the lady's hand

I think it's about reaching your goal by keeping your eye on the money

I think it's a song about remembering your dreams. The language in the song leads me to believe that they started with a goal, but were distracted by other things along the way. It fits with the song "Stick to Your Guns" in the meaning that you are bound for great things. Overall, it is a very good song, and my personal favorite in the album Theatre of Pain. I hope this comment sparked some new meaning in the song to you, reach out if you want further elaboration, and rock on.

@Johnnnny Yes, I just noticed that it is from the album To Fast for Love. My bad.
