To me the lyrics are about either a "the grass is always greener" lie we tell ourselves in certain situations (relationships, careers, life in general) or its about a glass half empty attitude, a better life or time that seems so far away (on the other side of the world) the music sounds really hopeful and innocent. I remember first hearing this when I was 17-19 and it described the world perfectly to me, the emotions I felt while hearing the melodies and lyrics. I was longing and still am for something that seems to be on the other side of the world.
