I'd sleep on the white tile lobby floor
And pace until the time to visit starts
The bright lights are on but I'm away
How nervous a voice sounds on the phone
You agree when you check in at the desk
Permission and trust in every move
I'd be beside you when they're done
But I'll have to wait until I can call
Call, call
The blood kept you home while I was gone
They left you a note when you woke up:
"Don't be alarmed by wooden spirits"
There won't be a need for you to call
Call, call
Excuses for careless doctor errors
Acceptance by all past patients
Have allowed for a cold disclaiming note
The warning is there, no need to call
Call, call
And pace until the time to visit starts
The bright lights are on but I'm away
How nervous a voice sounds on the phone
You agree when you check in at the desk
Permission and trust in every move
I'd be beside you when they're done
But I'll have to wait until I can call
Call, call
They left you a note when you woke up:
"Don't be alarmed by wooden spirits"
There won't be a need for you to call
Call, call
Acceptance by all past patients
Have allowed for a cold disclaiming note
The warning is there, no need to call
Call, call

man i love this song. CALL CALL!
This song has a really great beat to it, and i like the lyrics. The faint has a very interesting writing style... it makes them unique, and combines well with their music.
great sounding song, cant wait till they turn out more stuff
there AMAZING live, and this song, this whole cd, wow is awesome. blank wave arcade is most def. my favorite.
none of you discussed the meaning of the song. DISCUSS PLEASE!
I think this song might be about plastic surgery maybe?
how disconnected people seem when they need to rely upon eachother the most ... calling is talking but a different kind of communication [disconnected/not face to face], especially with doctors... patients need reasurrance, personal concern from those who perform upon them... but "no need to call", existing disclaimers and known errors and problems... indicates a stiff, emotionless relation from doctor to patient. bright lights and white tile floor make it seem like all is clean and pure and attention is fully to the patient, but it isn't that way really... the place seems rather muted and dark.
this song, especially the first verse, gives a good aura of hospitals (white tile floors, reception desks, doctors, patients, bright lights). also, between doctors and their patients, you have to trust the doctors with your life and there's permission and consent to be given everywhere. i'm not sure what the actual MEANING of this song is, though.
From what I gather, this song is about a person close to the song writer that died due to a doctor error? He is also questioning the disclaimer that patients are required to sign that basically waives the surgeon of any responsibility.
Anyone have anything else?
