A Screw (Holy Money) Lyrics

Keep your head on the ground
Push your ass up
Move around
Shake it
Cry
Cry
Cry
Cry
Open your mouth
Here's your money
Open your mouth
This feels good
Here is your money
This is love
Open your mouth
Here is your money
Holy money
Holy love
Holy money
Holy love

"A Screw" can be taken two ways: One literally, the other figuratively. The latter I'll do:

It's about subjugation, submission, and the brutal objectification of those subordinate to one's self for pleasure and other gains. The medium of control is pay. "Raping a Slave" shows the master/slave thing from the opposite angle: The subservient one is, through acting subservient, alloted a level of power over their dominator.

The song is from the perspective of a rapist to their victim. The image is juxtaposed with that of consumer society and religion, showing the oppression within such institutions and how it relates to rape and other such crimes.

Such a raw song. Heavier than 90 percent of the garbage out now. Gira also wrote a book which is...dark...bleak...to say the very least. Great beat as well
