i heard a radio interview a thousand years ago about this song; it was about one night when some of the band members were awake really late, and there was a guy banging on the door of a nearby apartment. he was yelling "Jennifer" over and over and begging to be let in, and saying the kind of stuff that's in the lyrics of the song. i like that they turned a funny story like that into a song.
